After putting some personal issues behind me (more or less), I'm back to writing again. It is strange, though, because I feel like I'm approaching the task much differently. I had been writing in a very linear way, concentrating on word count and moving the story forward. Now, I feel like I'm approaching the various sections of my book as, well, multi-dimentional. Maybe because these stories have been simmering in the crock-pot that is my brain on low for months, and now they've developed complexities I hadn't thought of the first time through. Maybe my brain just short circuited somewhere along the way and the new path it has to use to work is just different than the old one. We'll see. I have five or six characters with their own story lines and I just hit 41000 words and three of the five story lines are about to converge for the first time. It is like working with a 3-d puzzle, or composing for an orchestra or something, and trying to figure out who gets the melody, who gets the counter melody and who just gets to play a staccato note here and there for emphasis. I'm also working on transitions into chapters. It is fun. Well, back to work.

"A Bloody Good Read..."

Here is an interesting article on a recently found journal of Bram Stoker.

Ear Candy: Britney Spears - Gasoline

And now for something totally different. I'm a little embarrassed to admit how much I like this song. I'm pretty sure this would have gotten me beaten up in middle school. But every time I hear this song I can't help but dance.
